Permanent Positions at Cawdor Castle

Gardener – Salary from £26500 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) 

Immediate Start Available 

Full time (40 hours annualised per week), permanent contract. We will consider individuals looking for part time hours (minimum 3 days a week). There will be the requirement to work some weekends to ensure daily duties are carried out, but this is shared on a rota basis.

We are seeking an individual to join our experience Garden Team here at Cawdor Castle. Horticultural experience desirable but not essential what’s more important is that you are an honest, conscientious individual with passion for horticulture .You need to have a practical approach to work in a physically demanding environment and in all weather conditions!

Daily responsibilities will include assisting with maintaining of shrub and herbaceous borders of our historic gardens. Mulching, hedge cutting and lawn mowing.  You’ll work alongside our team of experienced gardeners looking after our extensive greenhouse plants, growing and harvesting vegetables and general ground maintenance.

Using machinery including hedge trimmers and lawnmowers are all part of the role. Experience in machinery is not essential, as training will be provided.

Full Drivers License required.

Although advertised without accommodation, this can be negotiated as part of a package for the correct candidate.   

Annual Hours – Average at 40 per week
March                       08.30 to 17.30 (1 hour lunch)
April – August           07.30 to 17.30 (1 hour lunch)
September                 08.00 to 17.00 (1 hour lunch)
October – February    08.30 to 16.30 (1 hour lunch)
